Yoga: Yoga is an ancient path
focused on reducing suffering. The heart of Yoga is connecting
the body, mind, breath and spirit. One of the many goals is to
just feel better than when you started. There are many simple
ways to practice Yoga including lengthening/deepening the breath
(Pranayama), stretching the spine (asana) and focusing the mind
on one thing and staying with it (Dharana/Dhyana). Bekah has
been teaching Yoga for over 6 years and is always learning
something new. In the west, we are particularly drawn to the
asana, the physical poses of Yoga. Here are her favorite
asana styles to teach and practice: ~Restorative (as
taught by Judith Lasater): Combines the appropriate spinal
movements with physiological relaxation tools to both balance
the body, calm the mind and RELAX the whole person. Poses are
held for up to twenty minutes and this style is very powerful
for anxiety, depression and pretty much anyone who has stress.
Bekah uses lots of props, support, breath and creates a safe
space to let go!
~Chandra Flow (inspired by Adelheid Ohlig, Vicki Howie and
Vicki Noble): The poses focus primarily on the "feminine"
energy centers of the hips, belly and heart and the class is
inspired by the current lunar cycle. An incredible practice for
anyone (especially women) who need to break away from the
masculine, solar, go!go!go! pace we usually live in. The
emphasis is on tuning in to our receptive, intuitive, creative,
nurturing and sensual side. An incredibly healing practice for
women and men alike.
~Vinyasa Flow: Linking breath and movement in this
detoxifying, energizing and prayerful practice.
Women's
Mysteries: Thanks to the efforts of Vicki Noble, Zsuszanna Budapest,
Adelheid Ohlig and many, many other amazing women, Bekah
has been passionately exploring the history of women's cycles
and the healing powers that accompany them. She has been
applying them to her own life as well as sharing them
with others through Yoga, women's gatherings and private
shamanic healing. Bekah encourages and facilitates ceremony for
all sacred mysteries:
~Baby Blessing (birth)
~Menarche ritual (1st
blood)
~Bridal Blessing
~Marriage
Ceremony
~Mother Blessing
(pregnancy)
~Croning Ritual
(menopause)
~Lunar Rituals (New, Full
and Dark moon ceremonies for personal empowerment and to support healing,
female balancing as well as increase creativity, fertility,
empowerment and manifestation
abilities.
~Seasonal Ceremonies
(As mama earth changes, so do we. Following and celebrating the
seasons ie Spring and Autumn Equinoxes/Summer and Winter
Solstices, cultivates a healthy body, mind, spirit, emotions
as well as connecting us to our big mother.)
For many women, the disconnect
from their cycles is the norm and it can be overwhelming to even
think about transforming that connection. Bekah loves to share
yoga poses, herbs, crystals, books and ritual to start to heal
these old female wounds and teach women to tap into their own
natural cycles and the power that comes with it.
Shamanic
Healing Techniques: Shamanism is the oldest healing
system in the world and is found in nearly every culture that
has ever existed. It is not necessarily religious, but the
healer does connect to the spirit world to receive guidance and
healing for whoever is seeking it.
Thanks to her wonderful teachers, Bekah is well trained in Shamanic journeying, healing,
divination, power animal retrieval, spirit retrieval,
extraction, Chakra clearing and balancing. Bekah uses her
beloved tools: drums, rattles, tarot, crystals, stones and
movement to facilitate these healing techniques.
Please email Bekah with any questions, recommendations or
to set up a session/ceremony in
these Sacred Arts!
